Ford has always been the chosen vehicle make for police interceptors, and we couldn’t be more proud to be a top carrier of this exceptional vehicle brand. Ford vehicles have always been reliable, affordable and of course, some of the most popular vehicles on the road ever since Henry Ford released the Model T.
For the new model year, we’re excited to announce that again Ford has been chosen as the elite police interceptor car and for that, we’re here to give you the 2015 Ford Police Interceptor ratings and specs as it compares to other vehicles in its segment.
The 2015 Ford Police Interceptor is one of the fastest accelerating vehicles on the market because, well, do we really need to explain? The 2015 interceptor comes in two different models: a sedan and a utility vehicle. Both are equally speedy and agile, as they must be in order to perform any and all functions needed by police.
The 2015 Ford Police Interceptor ratings and specs for the sedan are a little different than the utility vehicle, but equally impressive. The sedan seats up to five and has a maximum cargo capacity of 16.6 cubic feet.
The sedan, which is typically a Ford Taurus model or a Dodge Charger model, comes standard with either a 3.5L V6 engine (front-wheel drive) or a 3.7L V6 engine (all-wheel drive). It also has a 3.5L or a 2L EcoBoost engine available.
The utility vehicle is just as powerful and comes standard with a 3.7L V6 engine and an available 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. The utility vehicle also seats up to five but has 119 cubic feet in total cargo volume, which is a big increase from the sedan. It does, however, have the same available technology features to make sure police vehicles are well-equipped to handle any situation that may arise.
Ford has been trusted as a police interceptor provider for the past 60 years, and we’re proud to continue the legacy. For new Ford Police Interceptors, even more advanced technology will be included, such as a rearview backup camera, motion sensing notifications, heavy-duty braking systems and much more.
