Ford GT supercar release date in Grand Junction CO
A lot of automotive news has come from NAIAS 2015 so far, and we’re excited that some of the most exciting pieces have been about Ford vehicles! One of our favorite bits of news was the reveal of the Ford GT supercar. The supercar is exciting because it is part of Ford’s vision moving forward to provide drivers with ample options of high-performance vehicles.
There is not an official Ford GT supercar release date in Grand Junction CO yet, but we heard from Ford that the vehicle will likely be making its way into dealership inventories in 2016.
The Ford GT supercar uses an EcoBoost engine, which is exciting to see in a high-performance vehicle because it is the most powerful EcoBoost engine ever, making more than 600 horsepower. The Ford GT supercar already won the EyesOn Design Award for best production vehicle, which is a testament to Ford’s dedication to high-quality vehicles.
The EyesOn Design award is the official design award for NAIAS that honors the best production and concept vehicles that make their global debuts at the show.
The thing about the GT supercar that we love (and we think all other drivers will love) is that designers and manufacturers were able to maintain the same overall feel as that of the original GT40, but still bring it into the modern era with advanced technology and efficient parts.
The twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle that provides almost instant gear changes and unbelievable control. The GT supercar is also extremely aerodynamic and efficient, as every single line and contour is designed for optimum performance and to minimize drag. The GT supercar also has a rear spoiler that is a key component to improve speed and driver input.
We’re expecting the 2016 GT supercar to arrive in select markets in 2016 when production begins to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars.
