Lincoln vehicles have a much-deserved reputation for their high-quality designs and premium features, which was recently confirmed by the recently-announced 2018 J.D. Power awards. The 2018 Lincoln Navigator took the top spot for the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) study, while the 2018 Lincoln Continental and 2018 Lincoln MKC earned top segment honors for the 2018 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study.
2018 Lincoln Navigator and J.D. Power APEAL Award
The top spot for the 2018 Lincoln Navigator for the J.D. Power APEAL study is especially noteworthy, for it marks the first time that an American vehicle has earned this honor. The APEAL study is a comprehensive measurement of the emotional attachment that owners have to their vehicles, with 77 different attributes on a 1,000-point scale. The 2018 Navigator scored particularly high for its front-end styling, comfort of third-row seating, fuel economy, and voice recognition system. Overall, Lincoln ranked #4 among premium brands for the J.D. Power APEAL study, which is an improvement of two spots from the previous year.

J.D. Power Initial Quality Study Awards for 2018 Lincoln Continental and MKC
The 2018 Lincoln Continental earned the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study Award for the Midsize Premium Car segment, while the 2018 Lincoln MKC took the top spot for the Compact Premium SUV segment. For the Initial Quality Study, J.D. Power measures the quality of the vehicles for the first 90 days of ownership, with fewer problems resulting in a higher ranking. The success of Lincoln in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study can be credited to technology improvements, such as the SYNC 3 infotainment system.
